Problems with the 99 B-line bus

Problems with the 99 B-line bus

Recently, I’ve been thinking about problems with 99 B-line Bus, because the bus is too crowded and too late in the morning and during rush hours. So I have interviewed people, using a voice recorder, waiting for the 99 bus, for the last week. I asked them 4 questions.
1. What do you think about the 99 B-line Bus?
2. What are your problems with the 99 B-line Bus?
3. Do you think there should be sky trains on broad way street?
4. What do you think about the Bus fare? is it too expensive or fair?

I heard a variety of opinions. The first question, some people said the bus isn’t convenient because it’s too crowded. If you’re too close to people, you can smell bad odors and strong perfumes. But the other people said “we’re satisfied with the 99 B-line buses because it’s an express bus.” The second question, some people said their are few 99 bus, too crowded and too waited in the morning. And some people said the bus stop line-ups are too long. The third question, some people said the sky trains are very useful for UBC people. And we have more choices getting to work or school. The forth question, all of the people said the bus fee is proper. No complaints. One person said the problems with bus fees are how they are managed (where the most is spent). For example, the bus ride on the bridge to North Vancouver but if you want to drive your car on the bridge, you will pay. So the person’s thinking of bus fee is justified. First I thought, all the people has complained about the 99 B-line bus because I have complaints about 99 B-line bus. So I thought the people are just like me. But actually, people have different opinions. I was surprised by a result of opinions. I got varieties of opinions from the people. Now, I'll show you my interview result.

The duration and experience of mealtimes

Brazilian meal
Canadian meal

"Excuse-me, do you have a few seconds to talk?” – “Sorry, I don’t have time; I’m on my lunch...” This is the most common excuse when you try to start a conversation with someone on the streets, some restaurants, cafés, and fast food restaurants. Maybe the people believe they don’t have time to stop to do anything, just for a minute. Is that why they don’t have a long lunch time? Is that why they don’t have a real meal, just fast food? And if they can choose another kind of food, like a real meal, would they choose that? Do they care about the amount of time, is it enough? I ask some people, Canadians and Brazilians about these questions, and they answered me, all would like more time and to have a special meal with friends and family. In Canada you have 30 minutes to 1 hour for lunch, in Brazil, you have more time for lunch: 1 or 2 hours. Usually you can eat in your home, with your family and eat a real meal. In Brazil, a real meal is like rice, beans, beef and salad or spaghetti…etc, but no fast food. This time is important because you can talk with your family, take a rest sometimes and when you return to your job, for example, you’ll feel much better, and almost everything is healthy.

Another difference between Brazil and Canada is restaurants in Canada you need to memorize the menu, order your dish or sandwich as fast you can and before you finish your lunch, your bill is on the table and they’re waiting for you to pay and leave (so they can sit the next customers). Everyone works with that thought, “Sorry, I don’t have time”.

In Brazil, you have a lot time to choose your meal and you don’t need to eat in a hurry. You need to try, when you can, to have a good meal with your family and friends and enjoy this moment, it can be happy and healthy.

No Pants Subway Ride

On Jan 12th, 2014 The “No Pants Subway Ride” is opened. The event started in New York in 2002. It’s an annual global event. It has existed for 13years, and is happening all over the world. The event started at 4pm in Commercial-Broadway Sky Train station. Over 200people gathered in the station. There were reporters from broadcasting stations. They focused on a guy, he was a promoter. He explained how to enjoy this event. “Sit in the car and act as how you normally would. As soon as the doors shut, stand up and take your pants off and put them in your backpack.” When the event started, many people ran into the car, and they took off their clothes. We went to Waterfront station and then, transferred to Canada line. We got off in City Hall station. We walked on Granville Street. And then, returned to Commercial-Broadway station. All of them were happy and laughing. They must have had a good memory.

In Korea, I haven’t seen this kind of culture because we are a little conservative. If I took off my pants, I might be taken to a police station. Although it’s a little strange, I’d like to enjoy this event. It’s really out of the norm. So, I want to experience this special time. I interviewed some international people, and according to my research, they would like to join this event. Some people felt it had a positive effect on people. On the other hand, some people felt it was negative. Race and religion and gender, age doesn’t affect their opinions. As a result, we should respect different cultures according to people’s personalities and identity because I have to respect the differences in others.

Devil live in the cell phone

                                                        King of Gossip: Cell phone

Many people are using cell phones for talking everywhere, everyday. Just like talkative girls. Even serious men become gossipers with cell phones. And sometimes, we make rumors with cell phones. It isn’t illegal , but somebody gets hurt from rumors. It’s a bad situation. We can’t find the person who starts gossip because so many people are uploading and reading at internet likes Face book. So we need to silence from rumors on world of internet. However, if you can’t keep my advice, you will regret from what you do that. All people will blame you and go away from you then you will be alone.
So we must use cell phones carefully.

Regret

Feeling = Glass

Regret is almost a bad memory about something. This picture can show us a simple, but good example, because when you talk about feelings, some feelings hurt you and you can’t forget this, and this changes all your thoughts or the way you view your actions. It’s impossible to fix broken glass, and the same time, you can hurt yourself with these shards of glass, and about feelings it’s the same. In Brazil we say “alguem vai sair ferido” from this, which means “someone will leave injured” So, take care of your feelings.
